Coil Installation with 8-Shaped Configuration

1. Preparation:

   • Cut four chamfered coil slots in the road to prevent sharp corners from damaging the coil cable.
   • Ensure the groove dimensions are correct: generally, 4 mm in width and 30-50 mm in depth.

2. Lead Grooves:

   • Cut the lead grooves, ensuring there are no connectors in the middle to maintain signal integrity.
   • Leave sufficient lead length to connect to the vehicle detector when burying the wires.

3. Burying the Coil:

   • After placing the coil, seal the slots with cement or asphalt to ensure no gaps in the internal wiring.
   • Twist the lead wires together at a rate of 20 twists per meter, with a maximum lead length of 5 meters to maintain detection sensitivity.

4. Coil Shape and Orientation:

   • The detection coil should be rectangular unless conditions require an alternative shape.
   • The two long sides of the rectangle should be perpendicular to the direction of vehicle movement, with a recommended spacing of 1 meter between them.
   • The length of the long side should be about 0.5 meters narrower than the width of the road to accommodate various vehicle sizes.

5. Coil Turns:

   • Typically, the coil should have 4 or 6 turns.
   • If installing adjacent coils, vary the number of turns: one coil should have 4 turns and the other 6 turns to reduce crosstalk.

Double-Channel Detection (Relay A1 and B1 Output)

• Mode Settings:

  • MODE "1" OFF: When set to OFF, the system outputs a trigger when a vehicle enters.
  • MODE "1" ON: When set to ON, the system outputs a trigger when a vehicle exits.

• Direction Pulses:

  • Vehicle Passing from Coil A to Coil B: Relay B1 outputs a direction pulse of 200 ms.
  • Vehicle Passing from Coil B to Coil A: Relay A1 outputs a direction pulse of 200 ms.

Auxiliary Relay Output (Independent of Direction Detection)

• Mode Settings:
  • MODE "2" OFF, MODE "3" OFF:
    • Relay A2 outputs when a vehicle is present at coil A.
    • Relay B2 outputs when a vehicle is present at coil B.
  • MODE "2" OFF, MODE "3" ON:
    • Relay A2 outputs when a vehicle leaves coil A.
    • Relay B2 outputs when a vehicle leaves coil B.
