Operation Panel and Switches of the Single-channel loop detector

  1. Power Indicator: Red LED. Fully lit when power is supplied.

  2. Loop/Fault Indicator: Amber LED. Fully lit when a vehicle is detected. Blinks to indicate a loop fault.

  3. SW1 (Sensitivity Selection):

    • Use to adjust sensitivity levels.
    • Range: 0 to 9, A to F.
    • 0 represents the lowest sensitivity, and F represents the highest sensitivity.

Vehicle Loop Detector Coil Embedding Method

  1. Groove Preparation:

    • Groove Cutting: Begin by cutting a groove into the road surface using a line machine. Perform a 45-degree chamfer on the four corners to prevent sharp corners from damaging the line cable. The groove width should be between 4 to 8 mm, as shown in the diagram below.
    • Coil Lead: Cut a coil lead to the side of the road. Ensure the cut is clean and free from water or other liquids. Straighten the coil when winding, but do not stretch it too tightly. The coil should be snug against the bottom of the groove. Once wound, extract the twisted output from the slot.
  2. Work Steps of Single channel vehicle detector:

    • Measurement and Marking: Measure and mark the road surface according to the required position. Cut the corners at a 20 cm angle to avoid hard concrete right-angle cuts damaging the coil.
    • Groove Cutting: Use a cutting machine to cut the groove along the marked lines on the road surface. Cool the cutting machine with cold water during operation. Ensure the finished groove is free of debris and hard objects, and rinse it with water.
    • Coil Installation: Use the cutting machine’s blade to press the ground line into the slot. The ground line needs to be wound five times. For the lead part, twist the cable wires at both ends together (as shown in the figure). Place the cable into the ground slot.
    • Asphalt Filling: After placing all the cables in the slots,

fill the slots with mixed asphalt. Ensure the ground lines are securely positioned before injecting the filling material into the slots.

Operating Standards:

  • Ground Line Specifications: The standard ground line length should be 2 meters long and 0.5 meters wide.
  • Application: For industrial parks, logistics parks, customs, and other projects involving large and medium-sized trucks, arrange the Vehicle Loop Detector in a flat quadrilateral layout.
  • Groove Depth and Width: The groove depth should be at least 3 cm, and the roadside line groove width should be 5 mm.
  • Coil Installation:
    1. The ground line must be pressed to the bottom of the groove.
    2. The ground line wiring must be wound at least five turns.
    3. Adjacent ground-sensing coils should have different turn counts to avoid interference, for example, one coil with 5 turns and another with 6 turns.
  • Lead Part Winding: The lead part should be wound together with two ground lines for about 1 meter.
  • Final Steps: After placing the ground lines, pour asphalt over them and water the area 2-3 times until it is level.
