Optimizing Traffic Camera System Sensitivity: Balancing Accuracy and False Detection
By default, our traffic camera detecter is calibrated to a sensitivity level of 3, offering a balanced approach to detection. We recommend keeping the sensitivity below level 6 to mitigate the risk of false detections, while ensuring accurate target identification.
It's essential to understand that sensitivity directly impacts system performance. Higher sensitivity increases the likelihood of false alarms, while lower sensitivity may result in missed detections. Level 3 strikes an optimal balance for most scenarios, providing reliable results in typical conditions. However, for areas with challenging road conditions, such as poor weather or irregular surfaces, adjustments can be made accordingly.
The system also features an auto-reset function, ensuring continuous operation without manual intervention. Additionally, users can customize the retention time for captured data, ranging from 1 to 9 seconds, allowing for efficient analysis and review.
Upon detecting a target within the camera's field of view, the wireless video camera detector output board maintains the signal for the specified output keep time. If any jitter is observed in the output, users have the flexibility to extend this duration as needed, ensuring consistent performance.
Furthermore, our system offers manual calibration capabilities, empowering users to fine-tune settings based on specific requirements. With eight configurable detection areas spanning Region 1 to Region 8, users can select and delineate precise zones for monitoring. Utilizing the intuitive draw function, configuring detection areas is straightforward, accompanied by clear explanations to guide users through the process effectively.
A: Normal State (with Direction Detection)
B: Normal State (without Direction Detection)
C: Detection Area Setting Status (with Direction Detection)
D: Detection Area Setting Status (without Direction Detection)
Transitioning between the normal and edit states is as simple as double-clicking the detection area with the left mouse button, depicted as AC and BD in the above figure.
Please note: After configuring, remember to click "save" to preserve the settings for the traffic cameras. Ensure to send the parameters to the camera. Pay attention to the traffic camera system output settings and the detection 1-8 output settings. Enable output by ticking the appropriate box, and disable output when necessary to control the presence of output signals.
